My husband and I started A Place For Dad because my mother and father needed services. While searching for places for my mother, I couldn’t believe how expensive it was to care for someone with dementia. Because my father is a veteran my mother qualified for aid and attendance benefits but wasn't enough.
We created A Place For Dad as an affordable alternative to people who wanted to care for their parents but couldn’t afford to quit working.

I knew that my father would never live in a nursing home if he had the choice he would want to be independent regardless of his condition. I created a place that I felt my father would be able to live in and be comfortable.

I wanted to honor him by creating a place for other veterans that didn’t have the choice or the family to help them.
